Three in a row. It’s too late to make much of a difference standings-wise, but it is sure nice for the Los Angeles Angels to show the potential they had when the 2016 season started. That was on display Saturday when the Halos beat the Houston Astros 10-4 at Minute Maid Park.
Kole Calhoun had three hits and two RBIs, while Mike Trout had two hits, two RBIs and two walks. Albert Pujols had a pair of hits as well.
The win went to Jose Valdez (2-3), despite giving up two runs in a one-inning stint. Daniel Wright (0-4) will make the start for the Halos on Sunday.
Rustlers drop third straight
Golden West College’s football team suffered its third consecutive defeat Saturday night, falling 7-3 to Cerritos at LeBard Stadium on the Orange Coast College campus in Costa Mesa.
The Rustlers (1-3) will try to get untracked next week when they visit Long Beach City College on Oct. 1 in their final non-conference game.
