The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim saw their three-game winning streak snapped Sunday night in Houston as they lost 4-1 to the Astros. The defeat put the Halos at 69-87, still in fourth place in the American League West.
On Monday the Halos will be in Oakland to take on the fifth place A’s. Jered Weaver (12-12) will get the start for the Orange County team.
The Rams win, are tied for first place
Finally, the Los Angeles Rams scored a touchdown. In fact, on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road, they scored five of them, then hung on to win 37-32 in a game interrupted by lighting. The Rams are now 2-1, tied with Seattle for first place in the West Division of the National Conference of the NFL.
Case Keenum had a good day, throwing for 190 yards and two scores. Todd Gurley rush for two touchdowns and 85 yards. The defense got highlight on a 77-yard return by Ethan Westbrooks for a touchdown.
The Bucs made it close, as Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston –who threw for 405 yards and two touchdowns – was tackled on the Rams’ 5-yard-line as time ran out.
Next up for the Rams will be another road game on Oct. 2 against the Arizona Cardinals in Phoenix.
