SIXTEEN local teams got ranking or votes in Monday’s CIF-SS polls.

Sixteen local high school sports teams were recognized in polls released Monday by the CIF-SS as the fall season hits the midway point.

Football: Edison (5-1) is ranked second in Division 1, with Huntington Beach (3-3) eighth in Division 8. In Division 8, Garden Grove (4-2) was unranked but did receive some votes. In Division 13, Orange (6-0) is rated second.

Boys’ water polo: Huntington Beach is ranked third in Division 1. In Division 6, Ocean View is second; also receiving votes are Pacifica and Los Amigos.

Boys’ cross country: In Division 3, Ocean View is in a tie for 10th.

Girls’ cross country: Fountain Valley is eighth in Division 1 and Bolsa Grande is sixth in Division 3.

Girls’ tennis: Ocean View is 10th in Division 1.

Girls’ volleyball: In Division 1, Huntington Beach is fourth and Edison fifth. In Division 7, Garden Grove is seventh. In Division 8, Orangewood is unranked but received some votes.
