Tight race on tap for GGL boys’ hoops?

FIVE of six Garden Grove League boys’ basketball teams have winning records so far.

It looks like it might be a great race for the Garden Grove League boys’ basketball title this winter. After wins Thursday by Garden Grove and Los Amigos, five of the six teams in the league have winning records so far.

Bolsa leads at 2-0, with La Quinta at 3-1, while Grove, Los Amigos and Santiago are all at 2-1.

Here are high school basketball results from Thursday night for schools serving the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area:

Top scorers

For boys, it’s Chris Robertson of Santiago and Sergio Salgado of Los Amigos, each with 20 points. Jordan Harris and Brandon Coleman scored 18 and 17 points for Garden Grove.

On the girls’ side, Frankie Wade Sanchez of Huntington Beach scored 20 points. Sunshine Townson had 14 points for Pacifica.
