LA QUINTA edged Westminster Wednesday in a boys’ basketball game.
La Quinta won the “Battle of Westminster” Wednesday afternoon when the boys’ basketball team defeated city rival Westminster High 59-58 in the Estancia Coast Classic Tournament.
The Aztecs trailed 30-25 at halftime, but grabbed the lead with a 22-13 edge in the third quarter, then held off a late Lion charge. LQ goes to 8-2 overall and WHS to 4-10.
