THE WEATHER should be sunny most of the week in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach Westminster area (Flickr.co/Elisa Baltun).

Today we are launching a new feature: Monday Briefing. At the start of each workweek, we’ll give you a brief preview of what to expect in local government, entertainment, weather, sports and more. All tailored to the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area. Here we go.

WEATHER: It’s going to be sunny all week through Thursday, then a little cloudy as we head into the weekend. Look for temperatures to be in the high 70s and low 80s. Very springlike. Go out and enjoy the California sunshine.

MEETINGS: Garden Grove City Council meets on Tuesday with the top item being a proposal to renew the city’s commitment to honoring the flag of former South Vietnam and not displaying the flag of the communist Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m.

EVENTS: Huntington Beach’s annual State of the City shindig is Wednesday morning from 8-10 a.m. at the Senior Center in Central Park. Mayor Barbara Delgleize and others will speak on community issues.

SPORTS: The Anaheim Ducks will be in action this week at Honda Center in Anaheim against the St; Louis Blues on Wednesday and the Buffalo Bills on Friday. Both games start at 7 p.m.

ENTERTAINMENT: Looking ahead to the weekend (and which of us does not?), here’s what will be happening.
