The most interesting item on Monday’s agenda of the Huntington Beach City Council meeting could be the meeting before the meeting.
While the regular meeting starts at 6 p.m., a study session at 4 p.m. will center on a report on the proposed “Shipley to Shore” trail linking the city’s Central Park to the planned Orange County’s Harriett Wieder Regional Park.
The planned Harriett Wieder Park (also named after a former Huntington Beach mayor, who later became a county supervisor) is a 106-acre regional recreation area to be located facing on Seapoint Avenue. When completed and linked to the Central Park, the park could allow people to walk or bike all the way to Bolsa Chica State Beach.
Phase 1A of the park – four acres – is now open from 7 a.m. to sunset.
The council meets in its chambers at 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue).
