It’s the first day of spring. Don’t you feel better, happier, and more optimistic? Here’s a look ahead for the first week of the new season.

WEATHER: The summer-like weather we’ve been enjoying in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area will be taking a little vacation this week. It’s going to be partly cloudy with some showers for most of the week, finally yielding to sunny weather on Sunday.

MEETINGS: The Huntington Beach City Council will meet on Monday with a study session at 4 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m. The most interesting part of the evening could be a report on the “Shipley to Shore” nature trail envisioned for a linking of Central Park to the under-development Harriett Wieder Regional Park. That discussion will be in the study session.

ENTERTAINMENT: Movies and live action amusements this week.

SPORTS: The Anaheim Ducks will host the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, the Winnipeg Jets on Friday and the New York Rangers on Sunday.

EVENTS: A rally and march supporting President Donald Trump is set for Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. Officially, it’s the “Southern California Make America Great Again March.”
