Grove knots up the GGL baseball race

GARDEN GROVE HIGH defeated La Quinta 4-0 on Friday to tie up the Garden Grove League race at 4-1.

Garden Grove High knotted up the Garden Grove League baseball race Friday with a 4-0 win over La Quinta at the Argonaut diamond. Grove and La Quinta are now tied for first with 4-1 records through the first round of league play.

Cesar Valencia (5-0) pitched a complete game for the Argos, giving up just two hits and striking out six batters. At bat, Grove was led by Pablo Hernandez (3-for-3 with one RBI) and Francisco Cadiz (2-for-3 with a runs scored and two stolen bases).

Alexan Rostomian had one hit and two stolen bases for La Quinta. The two teams will meet again on May 9 and 11 in a pair of games which could decide the GGL pennant.
