Motorcyclist remains in critical condition

A MOTORCYCLIST is in critical condition after he collided with a car and was struck by another Monday afternoon in Huntington Beach.

A motorcyclist remains in critical condition in a local hospital after he collided with one automobile and then struck by another on Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach Monday afternoon.

According to the Huntington Beach Police Department, the incident took place around 4:40 p.m. at 10th Street. Their investigation indicates that the cyclist was traveling southbound on PCH when he struck a car that was pulling away from the curb parking.

He was thrown into the northbound traffic lanes of the highway and struck by another vehicle. HBFD paramedics treated him at the scene and he was transported to an area trauma center.

MAN THREATENING TO JUMP SHUTS 405

A man threatening to kill himself by jumping off an overpass of the San Diego (405) Freeway in Westminster brought the thoroughfare to a complete halt for a period on Monday afternoon.

City News Service reported that a 29-year-old man stood on the Springdale Street bridge while the California Highway Patrol stopped traffic in both directions. After speaking with police for about 45 minutes, according to CNS, he was taken into custody for psychiatric evaluation and the freeway was reopened.
