A few weeks ago, State Senator Janet Nguyen joined Public Broadcasting Service personality Samantha Brown at Thanh My restaurant on Bolsa Avenue in Westminster to record an upcoming episode of “Samantha Brown’s Places to Love.” This nationally televised travel show will highlight Orange County’s Little Saigon and will feature an appearance by Sen. Nguyen (R-Garden Grove) who will share her personal journey from Vietnam to the United States and talk about the importance of Little Saigon as a hub for the Vietnamese-American community of Orange County.

“Little Saigon is a cultural, social and historical gem that deserves to be showcased on a show of this caliber,” said Nguyen. “Having grown up visiting Little Saigon and proudly serving as the area’s representative for over a decade, first as a county supervisor and now, as state senator, it was a distinct honor to be chosen to represent the Vietnamese-American community on this program and to introduce the national public to Little Saigon’s landmarks and cuisine.”

Brown has an established career on television that began in 1999, some notable shows include: Great Hotels, Passport to Europe and Passport to Latin America. Over the last 13 years, Samantha has visited over 220 cities in 49 countries and 30 of the United States, producing over 160 hours of programming. Her new series, “Samantha Brown’s Places to Love” began filming in Texas earlier this year and will take Samantha around the world, as she highlights important travel destinations.

The show is scheduled to begin airing on PBS in January of 2018.
