It won’t exactly be Woodstock 2.0, but a real live rock and roll music festival will be coming to central Garden Grove next month.

Beginning Saturday, Aug. 5, through Sunday, Aug. 6, the High and Mighty Music Festival will take place at Village Green Park, 12732 Main St (at Euclid Street). It will include 17 acts, along with carnival rides, craft beer bars and a vendor village. Headline acts will include Sublime with Rome and Dirty Heads.

During the two-day festival, heavier traffic is anticipated in the immediate area. Motorists are asked to plan accordingly to avoid delays.

The following streets will be closed on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.:

  • Main Street, northbound lane, from Acacia Parkway to Euclid Street
  • Acacia Parkway, from Euclid Street and Grove Street
  • Grove Avenue, northbound traffic

No parking will be enforced on the following streets, from Saturday, Aug. 5, at 8 a.m., to Sunday, August 6, at midnight.:

  • Acacia Parkway, from Euclid Street to Nelson Street
  • Main Street, from Acacia Parkway to Stanford Avenue
  • Grove Avenue

Areas affected by the no parking restrictions will be posted with “No Parking” signs. Residents and businesses will be notified in advance. Access will be made available to area residents.

The producers of the High and Mighty Music Festival are hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, July 18, at 7 p.m., at the Courtyard Center, located at 12732 Main Street. The community is invited to attend the question and answer session.
