National Night Out connects cops to you

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is Tuesday, Aug. 1 with events in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Westminster.

National Night Out, a celebration of community policing, will include events Tuesday in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Westminster.

In Garden Grove, the event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Village  Green Park on Main Street. It’s hosted by the Garden Grove Neighborhood Association and the Garden Grove Downtown Business Association. The object of the “Night Out” is to encourage citizens to join or start a neighborhood watch program, as well as learn more about the GGPD.

In Westminster, the event is in the parking lot of Westminster Mall, opposite the Target department store on Bolsa Avenue. Event hours are 5-8 p.m.

Huntington Beach’s “Night Out” will be held from 5-8 p.m. in the parking lot of the Target located at Adams Avenue and Brookhurst Street.
