GG, Westminster councils to meet

GARDEN GROVE and Westminster city councils will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday night.

Light agendas will greet the city councils of Garden Grove and Westminster when they meet this week.

The Garden Grove council’s public session convenes on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. Topping the agenda are:

  • a public hearing on a proposed ordinance changing the city codes regarding water use in landscaping;
  • adoption of a resolution authorizing an application for a grant to operate a community residential care facility at 12781 Josephine St.

The Westminster council’s public session starts at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd. Significant items include;

  • consideration of an interim urgency ordinance regarding accessory dwelling units – smaller second dwellings on a residential lot – in accordance with new state law
  • a request to the council to provide direction to city staff regarding temporary sign and window sign regulations.
