A PEDESTRIAN trying to run across the Garden Grove Freeway at Beach Boulevard Friday morning was fatally struck by a vehicle.
A person running across the Garden Grove Freeway Friday morning was fatally struck by an automobile. According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 5:40 a.m.
Several lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours while the investigation was ongoing. All lanes of the freeway were open by 8 a.m., according to the CHP.
Body of missing woman found
After a two-day search, the body of a Temecula woman missing since Tuesday was found on Thursday in the ocean south of the Huntington Beach city pier.
According to the Orange County Coroner’s office, the body of Jessy Cook, 18, was found at 12:48 a.m. on Thursday. She had last been seen near the pier on Feb. 6. A search was conducted but was not successful.
Closure of mobile home park on agenda
A public hearing will be held on the proposed closure of a mobile home park at a special meeting Monday of the Westminster Planning Commission.
Residents of the park are getting assistance from the Legal Aid Society of Orange County. They are requesting that the public hearing be continued to Feb. 26.
The commission meets in the Council Chambers, 8200 Westminster Blvd. at 6:30 p.m.
