THE CREATION OF A GROUP to work on ways to curb noise from Long Beach and other area airports was approved at a January meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council.
In an effort to tackle issues related to noise from aircraft flying over Surf City, an Air Traffic Noise Working Group has been formed. It now consists of council members Patrick Brenden and Barbara Delgleize, a dozen Huntington Beach residents and city staff members.
“Many neighborhoods have experienced an increase of around-the-clock air noise,” said Brenden. “Forming this group is the first step in getting organized and forming a strategy before we approach the Federal Aviation Administration in making much-needed changes.”
