The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim’s brief term in first place in the American League West ended after one day, as the Halos lost 6-0 to the Cleveland Indians in the team’s 2018 home opener.

Nearly 44,000 fans showed up for a look at the latest edition of the team that had won three of its first four games. What they saw instead was an off night by both the offense and the pitching.

The Angels were able to cobble together six hits and starter J.C. Ramirez was touched for five runs on five hits, including three home runs. Top hitters for the Angels were Andrelton Simmons and Jefry Marte, each with two hits.

They’ll go again on Tuesday when Garrett Richards starts for the Angels (3-2) against the Indians.
