WESTMINSTER PLANNING COMMISSION meets on Wednesday and will consider a two-sided electronic billboard.

A proposal to build a two-sided electronic billboard that’s nearly twice as tall as the current height limit will go before the Westminster Planning Commission when it meets on Wednesday.

Electra Media Inc. is proposing to erect the advertising device at 13071 Springdale St., facing the Garden Grove (22) Freeway adjacent to the Westminster Rinks ice hockey facility.

The sign would be 64 feet above grade; the height maximum now is 35 feet. It would operate from 5 a.m. to midnight daily.

In connection with this, EMI is proposing to remove the abandoned Sunset Ford sign along the freeway at 6312 Garden Grove Boulevard.

Further, the applicant proposes to share a portion of the revenue from the proposed billboard with the city.

The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
