THE CITY OF HUNTINGTON Beach has three lawsuits in court filed in April (Orange County Tribune photo).

A status report on three lawsuits being pursued by the City of Huntington Beach will top the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the city council.

City Attorney Michael Gates will report to the council on these legal actions:

Also on the agenda is a proposal to create a harbor commission and a change in the meeting day of the city council from Monday to Tuesday.

The council meets in its chambers in the Civic Center, 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue) at 6 p.m.

Sign decision delayed to May

A proposal to build a two-story electronic billboard at Springdale Street facing the Garden Grove (22) Freeway was continued from Wednesday’s meeting of the Westminster Planning Commission to May 16.

The sign would be 64 feet above grade; the height maximum now is 35 feet. It would operate from 5 a.m. to midnight daily.

In connection with this, EMI is proposing to remove the abandoned Sunset Ford sign along the freeway at 6312 Garden Grove Boulevard.

Further, the applicant proposes to share a portion of the revenue from the proposed billboard with the city.

Open houses on 1-405 changes planned

Open houses on the planned changes in the San Diego (Interstate 405) Freeway will be held this month and next.

The Orange County Transportation Authority will conduct these sessions on Thursday, May 10 in the Westminster Civic Center, 8200 Westminster Blvd. from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 5 from 6-8 p.m. in the Senior Center in Huntington Beach at 18041 Goldenwest St.
