Garden Grove Unified School District is celebrating its more than 2,000 classified employees during Classified Employee Week from May 21 through May 25. Classified employees include administration, clerical, data control, fiscal, food service, instructional assistance, maintenance, grounds, and transportation trades as well as printing services, secretarial, warehouse, information technology workers, and others.
GGUSD employs approximately 100 school bus drivers, more than 600 instructional aides, 200 maintenance and operations employees, 140 language/community outreach employees, more than 300 secretarial/clerical staff, 350 food service workers, and 70 technology support employees, among others.
Free lunches this summer in OVSD
The Ocean View School District will participate in the 2018 Summer Community Lunch Program. Beginning on June 25, the district will provide lunches to all children 18 years of age and under, free of charge, from the Oak View Elementary School location.
The program runs Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from June 25 to Aug. 31 (closed only Wednesday, July 4).
Acceptance and participation for the program are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, gender or disability and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals must be consumed on site premises.
