There’s room for candy and ice cream in every diet and especially so at the cinema. Not every film can be “The Battleship Potemkin” or “Schindler’s List.”
The quintet is Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Jake Johnson, Ed Helms and Hannibal Buress. Despite the efforts of decades, Renner’s character – Jerry Price – has never been tagged.
A Wall Street Journal reporter (Annabelle Wallis) gets wind of the escapade and – pardon the pun – tags along a quest to finally touch Price before his impending wedding.
Of course, there’s a lot of slapstick and pratfalls, along with some redeeming wisdom about the importance of friendship and play. In short, just about 90 minutes of escape, in more ways than one.
“Tag” is rated R for salty language.
