5 dead in Maryland newspaper shooting

AT LEAST five people are dead and others wounded at a mass shooting in a newspaper office in Maryland.

UPDATE: The suspect in Thursday’s shooting at a Maryland newspapers has been identified by the Associated  Press as Jarrod M. Ramos. Other news sources say the weapon used was a shotgun.

A shooting in a Maryland newspaper office Thursday afternoon has left at least five people dead and several others wounded. A suspect is said to be in custody.

The gunman walked into the offices of the Capital Gazette in Annapolis – home of the U.S. Naval Academy, and capital of the state – and began firing. The name of the man arrested and details about the identity of the deceased or the conditions of the wounded were not immediately available.

Law enforcement officers flooded the area and addition to taking one man into custody, searched for possible other shooters or bombs.
