AN ANAHEIM man was sentenced to 50 years to life for a 2015 murder in an Anaheim park.

An Anaheim man was sentenced Friday to 50 years to life in state prison for the 2015 murder of a man in a park.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Adam Jay Stone, 31, had been found guilty by a jury on April 25, 2018 on one felony count of murder and a sentencing enhancement of discharge of a firearm causing death.

His co-defendant, Ransom Cook of Westminster, pleaded guilty on Dec. 17, 2015 to one misdemeanor count of being an accessory after the fact and was sentenced to one year in county jail and three years of formal probation.

The case began in Jan. 7, 2015, when Cook drove Stone to Twila Reid Park in Anaheim. At about 4:50 p.m., Stone left the vehicle with a loaded firearm and shot 29-year-old Alexander McMoore once in the head. Stone ran back to the vehicle and both defendants fled the scene.

Witnesses helped indentify the pair of men, who were arrested later that evening.
