Westminster will be doing its bit to help ease the homeless crisis.
According to Andrew Do, First District Supervisor on the Orange County Board of Supervisors, the county has allocated $1,116,400 towards the development of the Della Rosa Supportive Housing Project in that city.
In Santa Ana, nearly $9 million in county mental health funds will be dedicated to building and maintaining 57 new units of permanent supportive housing units as part of the Aqua Apartments project.
Garden Grove parks celebrate the month
The City of Garden Grove is celebrating July as “Parks Make Life Better Month” with free activities and admission to several recreation facilities beginning the week of Monday, July 23.
On Wednesday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Atlantis Play Center offers park visitors free admission to the fantasy-themed playground and maritime splash pad. Atlantis Play Center is located at 13630 Atlantis Way.
The Sports and Recreation Center, located at 13641 Deodara Drive, will open for free adult drop-in basketball on Friday, July 27, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Five HB students make UA academic lists
A total of 11,347 students enrolled during the 2018 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s).
The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.
