Brett M. Kavanaugh, currently a judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, was nominated Monday evening by President Donald Trump to become an associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.
Before that he worked with Kenneth Starr in the Office of the Independent Counsel investigating the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal that led to the impeachment trial of then-president Clinton
He would give the court a 5-4 conservative majority. Born in Washington D.C, in 1965, he attended Yale University and is married to Ashley Estes.
