Valley View Street’s future is the topic

Valley View Street is the “main street” for West Garden Grove. It’s where west-siders do much of their shopping and dining. But there’s been some concern about vacancies and closures in that business district.

In an effort to address that, the Urban Land Institute, together with the City of Garden Grove, will hold a two-day event to assess the potential for growth of that area.

A focus group will meet from 4-5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave., in Garden Grove.

On Thursday, July 19, a results presentation will be made from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., also at the CMC.

To RSVP for the focus group, call (714) 741-5135 no later than Tuesday, July 17.

  1. What do you guys think will eventually open there ? I think a Harry’s or Norm’s would be great.

  2. I heard the the owner of this center has driven out all the occupants with no new leases for some unknown reason.

  3. How about some healthier options versus the abundance of fast food that already exists in this community. Trader Joe’s would be a major face lift for this area. We need something local that is convenient and better than Vons, which seems to have declined rapidly in quality and increased in prices over the last few years.
