Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane. A whole lot of planes!

When it’s Oct. 19-21, it will be the newly-christened The Great Pacific Air Show, filling the skies over Huntington Beach with numerous aerial acrobatics.

For the past two years, the show was sponsored by Breitling, a firm that makes high-end precision watches. This year, the joystick – and name – has been passed to Pacific Airshow, LLC. The three-day event around the Huntington Beach Pier will be produced by a local business, Code Four.

“The Great Pacific Airshow is an incredible event to have here in Huntington Beach,” said Kevin Elliot, CEO of Code Four, “and I am honored and excited to be leading this show forward.”

A principal feature of the show will be performances by the United States Air Force’s Thunderbirds team and its aerial acrobatics in F-16 fighter planes.

An estimated 2 million people watched the show in 2017. There’s no charge to attend, but premium viewing spots are available for a charge.
