Fire trucks and bicycles will be the vehicles of interest on Tuesday night before the Garden Grove City Council when it convenes.

A special meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. to discuss a proposal from the Orange County Fire Authority to provide fire services for Garden Grove.

An earlier proposal from the OCTA appeared to save the city several million dollars, but new figures from the state retirement system indicated it would actually cost Garden Grove over $2 million annually.

At the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m., the council will consider awarding a contract worth $95,220 to Mark Thomas & Associates to provide engineering design services for the Garden Grove Bicycle Corridor Improvement Program.
