CITY COUNCILS in Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster will hold meetings this week.

Local city councils will be busy this week, with three meetings on tap, two of them special sessions.

On Tuesday, the Huntington Beach City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in its chambers at 2000 Main St. It’s a generally light agenda, topped by consideration of a contract to provide public safety helicopter service to the City of Irvine.

Under the proposed agreement, Irvine would pay $770 an hour for the use of the HBPD chopper and its staff. The deal would run for three years from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021.

On Wednesday, the Westminster City Council will meet at 7 p.m. in its chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd. in a special session. Among the items on the agenda are an application for development review and affordable density bonus for a project of 25 multi-family residences on a 1.01-acre site on the east side of Milton Avenue at its intersection with Hefley Street.

The regular meeting scheduled for Sept. 12 has been cancelled; a special meeting has been called for Sept. 19.

Also on Wednesday, the Stanton City Council has a special session set. This will be a closed session with the topic being the appointment of a city manager. The city has been without a top appointed executive since the resignation of James Box in August.

The interim city manager has been Stephen Parker. The meeting is set for 10 a.m. at the City Hall, 7800 Katella Ave.
