It’s the return of the Sunday “paper”

THE SUNDAY “PAPER” returns, even though it may not be on paper.

The new year is not quite on us, but here at the Orange County Tribune, we are planning on starting 2019 a bit early.

Beginning with Sunday, we have several changes planned for us, and you, our readers.

First, for those of you/us who prefer to read our news on paper instead of from a computer screen, we know offer a compact, print version of The Tribune for paid subscribers.

Next, we are adding a new raft of features each Sunday for the online OCT. Relaxing on Sunday with the Sunday newspaper used to be a universal weekend experience in the American home. That’s getting to be an endangered practice, so we bring you back a piece of that with our Sunday Specials.

There are syndicated cartoons, articles and more for your amusement and information. We are starting to roll them out this Sunday, and we expand to add more stuff over the next few weeks.

To recap, here’s what the Orange County Tribune offers in the course of a week:

  • Sunday Specials including comics, columns and more.
  • Tuesday is Prep Sport Spotlight, highlighting local high school athletics.
  • Wednesday we alternate Jim Tortolano’s Retorts opinion column with Usually Reliable Sources, giving insight to local issues.
  • Thursday we post Weekend, a quick look at entertainment coming up in cinemas, on stages and elsewhere in the area.

And, of course, all through the week we have reviews of local live theater, coverage of the big high school games, city council meetings, crime and more.

Take a look at our changes and let us know what you think. And thanks for your interest in our interests.
