The strongest of the gusty winds that lashed west Orange County appeared to be mostly lowing themselves out by Friday night.

According to the National Weather Service, winds in the cities of Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster can expect to be no stronger than 18 miles an over, tapering off to less than 10 miles the weekend and coming week.

There have been no major fires reported in those cities despite the high winds. However a strip mall in Santa Ana was hit by a roof fire early Friday morning.

Other part of the county and the state have been less fortunate, and some local fire-fighting units have been dispatched to battle fires in the Thousand Oaks area, and even to the blaze that ravaged the city of Paradise in northern California.

Here’s the city-by-city weekend weather breakdown.
