The California Department of Education announced this week that Garden Grove Unified School District’s Cook Elementary School was named a 2018 National Elementary and Secondary Education Act Distinguished School.
This is the second national honor Cook Elementary School has received in the last two years. The school was named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Since then, Cook has continued with its school-wide approach to promoting the growth mindset, scholarly habits, perseverance and other skills that lead to academic success. Cook also offers a Scholar Support Group and other interventions to help students set goals and celebrate growth.
