The “new” Huntington Beach City Council dug into a fairly routine agenda on Monday and took on a wide variety of topics in the last meeting of 2018.
It was the first full council meeting with new Mayor Erik Peterson and new member Kim Carr.
Also on Monday night, the council:
- approved the appointment of Kelly Rodriguez to the position of assistant chief of police;
- approved the amendment of the municipal code to create a harbor commission;
- approved the renewal of the Huntington Beach Tourism Improvement District and a pass-through – from fees collected from members – appropriation of $500,000.
The Jan. 7 meeting of the council was cancelled and the next scheduled meeting is set for Jan. 22.
