New building in downtown proposed

A DEVELOPER is proposing to construct a two-story office and retail building in Garden Grove’s downtown area.

Interest in construction in the downtown area continues, as the Garden Grove Planning Commission will take up a proposed two-story building when it meets on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Darren Nguyen is seeking a site plan and tentative tract map to build a new 9,229-square foot building for professional offices, medical offices and retail on a 23,393-square foot lot at 10862 Garden Grove Blvd. (on the south side) between Century Boulevard and Euclid Street.

Also on the agenda will be a request for a conditional use permit for the installation and operation of a citywide small wireless telecommunications facility at an existing utility pole in the public right-of-way on the east side of Springdale Street between Lenore Avenue and Trinette Avenue.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave.
