UPDATE: The Lobos lost 4-0 to Ramona High in their SoCal regional first round game on Tuesday.

Winning a CIF-SS title is often the crowning achievement of a high school athletic team’s season, and perhaps the most outstanding memory for players and coaches to take with them.

But the Los Amigos High School girls’ soccer team not only won the Division 5 championship Friday with a 4-1 shootout win victory over Westside of Pasadena, it’s going for even more gold.

The Lobos (21-3-1) will host Ramona High School on Tuesday (today) at Monsoor Stadium on the Garden Grove High campus at 4 p.m. for a SoCal Regional Division IV playoff game.

If they win, they’ll advance to the semifinals on Thursday against the winner of the St. Margaret’s –Roosevelt/Eastvale contest.

The regional final will be on Saturday, and the winner there advances to play for the state title.

Congratulation to coach Cassidy Abad and the Lobos for what’s been accomplished, and good luck to them in seeking further glory.
