A BIT of rain should wet your lawn this week, especially Wednesday during the day and Thursday at night (Shutterstock)..

Here’s the return of a column giving you a heads-up of what to expect in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Stanton-Westminster area this week. Regardez-vous le Monday Briefing.

WEATHER: Cloudy Monday and Tuesday, with rain on Wednesday, and Thursday night. Sunny and windy on Friday, then sunny on Saturday and cloudy on Sunday. Daytime temperatures will range from the mid-60s down to high-50s.

MEETINGS:  Huntington Beach City Council will meet Monday night with a closed session at 4 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m.  Items of interest will include possible hiring of an interim city manger, and final approval of a contract with the police officers’ union.

ENTERTAINMENT: The top major film release out this coming weekend is “Captain Marvel,” a flick about a female super hero caught in a war between two alien races. Rated PG-13.

SPORTS: The Anaheim Ducks will host the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday at Honda Center in Anaheim, the Montreal Canadiens on Friday and the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, all at 7 p.m.

OH, AND DON’T FORGET ….

Daylight savings time starts this weekend. On Sunday at 2 a.m. (or before you go to bed on Saturday night, whichever comes first) set your clocks, watches and sundials ahead one hour. That’s right, spring forward, fall back. Does this mean you will lose an hour of sleep?  Yeah, but you get it back again in the fall.
