SANTIAGO blanked La Quinta 10-0 Tuesday in a softball between two teams ranked number one in their CIF-SS divisions.
Loara and Rancho Alamitos’ baseball teams moved to the front of the class with victories on Tuesday. The Saxons blanked La Quinta 4-0 to improve to 7-0 in Garden Grove League (8-5 overall). The Aztecs fell to 5-3 and 8-5.
The Vaqueros beat Los Amigos 9-5 to go to 7-1 and 9-5.
In softball, unbeaten Santiago, CIF-SS’s top-ranked Division 6 team, defeated La Quinta, the number one in Division 7 by the score of 10-0 at the Cavalier diamond. Rena Rocha pitched a perfect game, working five innings and striking out three. Aolani Sua went 3-for-4 with a home run. The Cavs improved to 14-0 overall and 2-0 in GGL play. The Aztecs fell to 6-4 and 1-2 in league.
