La Quinta High School in Westminster – part of the Garden Grove Unified School District – has been rated one of the top high schools in the state and nation, according to a ranking announced Wednesday by U.S. News and World Report.
The rating system ranks schools based on performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and preparation for college.
Among comprehensive high schools in The Tribune’s coverage area – Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster – here are how public schools were ranked according to the study.
- La Quinta: 415th nationally, 54th in California
- Huntington Beach: 1,297th and 198th
- Pacifica: 1,410th and 214th
- Westminster: 1809th and 270th
- Garden Grove: 1,851st and 288th
- Bolsa Grande: 2,076th and 313th
- Marina: 2,150th and 328nd
- Edison: 2,537th and 385th
