La Quinta High among nation’s best

LA QUINTA HIGH is one of the top-rated high schools in the state and nation, according to U.S. News and World Report.

La Quinta High School in Westminster – part of the Garden Grove Unified School District – has been rated one of the top high schools in the state and nation, according to a ranking announced Wednesday by U.S. News and World Report.

The rating system ranks schools based on performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and preparation for college.

LQHS ranked 54th best in California and 415th in the nation. The report showed that 67 percent of Aztec students took at least one Advanced Placement exam, 80 percent passed at least one AP exam, 70 percent had proficiency in mathematics and 82 percent in reading. The graduation rate was 94 percent.
