SIX LOCALteams are in the CIS-SS baseball and softball playoffs today (Thursday) and Friday (Shutterstock).
Six local teams – three baseball and three softball – from area high schools have survived into the CIF-SS quarterfinals to be played today (Thursday) and Friday.
In softball, here are the Thursday matchups for schools serving the communities of Garden Grove, Huntington 
- Division 1: Huntington Beach (17-8) at Chino Hills (28-4)
- Division 6: Garey (20-0) at Santiago (24-1)
- Division 7: Rio Hondo Prep (12-9-1) at Westminster (14-7).
In baseball, the Friday games are:
- Division 1: Huntington Beach (24-6) at Aliso Niguel ((26-4)
- Division 4: Ocean View (23-10) at La Canada (20-7)
- Division 4: Loara (19-8) at Kennedy (23-9).
In both sports, the semifinal round will be played on Tuesday, May 14.
