THE ANNUAL budget goes to the Huntington Beach City Council on Monday (Shutterstock).

The annual budget and housing issues dominate the agenda for Monday’s meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council.

A public hearing will be held on the proposed 2019-20 city budget of $381,229,021. Of that amount, $231,840,040 is for the general fund and the remainder for a wide variety of accounts, including library development and park development.

The biggest outlays will be for police ($78,793,015) and fire ($49,060,211). Public works is a distant third, with a cost of $25,964,567.

The council meets in its chambers in the Civic Center, 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue).  A study session is scheduled for 4 p.m., a closed session at 5 p.m. and the regular session at 6 p.m.
