Ah, the first full week of June. Typically that means weddings, graduations and June gloom weather. Here’s our look at what this coming week means for folks in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
- Garden Grove: Highs will be 70 to 73; lows 59 to 61
- Huntington Beach: Highs of 69 to 71; lows 59 to 61
- Stanton: Highs of 71 to 74; lows of 59 to 61
- Westminster: Highs of 69 to 70; lows of 58 to 61.
MEETINGS: The Huntington Beach City Council will meet on Monday at 6 p.m. Topping the agenda is the 2019-2020 city budget and several housing measures.
The Westminster Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. to consider design revisions to the three-story mixed use Westminster Crossings project.
Garden Grove Planning Commission will meet on Thursday to discuss the discuss the downtown parking plan at 7 p.m.
Garden Grove Unified School District Board of Education will meet on Tuesday and consider the 2019-2020 annual budget at 7 p.m.
- “Dark Phoenix,” another Marvel Universe superhero pic, this one about mutant Jean Grey, who turns into a super bad mutant. Rated PG-13.
- “The Secret Life of Pets 2.” Max the terrier is having a rough time, but things look up when he meets a new friend. Rated PG. Oh, and it’s animated.
EVENTS: “The Largest Gathering of People Dressed As A Fruit or Vegetable” sounds like a joke, but it’s a real-life charity gathering planned for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Pier Plaza in Huntington Beach. Proceeds from tickets ($10 to $28) will benefit children diagnosed with a critical illness. They’re going for a world record.
