A 23-year-old Westminster man died after his motorcycle collided with an automobile Friday morning in Huntington Beach.

According to Motor Sergeant Eric Warken of the HBPD, the crash took place around 9:25 a.m. in the area of Beach Boulevard and Garfield Avenue.

Arriving officers found a green 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle in the intersection of Beach and Clay Avenue. The motorcycle was on its side and had extensive damage.

The rider was on the ground and “unresponsive.” He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he was pronounced dead. The rider did not have a license to operate a motorcycle, according to police.

The automobile, a white 2016 Toyota Corolla, had suffered damage to the passenger side. The driver, a 58-year-old Huntington Beach man, remained at the scene and cooperated.

Anyone with information about the incident – including video footage of the area – is asked to contact the HBPD at (714) 536-5666 or (714) 536-5670.
