HAMPUS LINDHOLM has two assists in the first week of the new season for the Anaheim Ducks (Flicker).
So far, so good.
The Anaheim Ducks, who finished sixth in the Pacific Division of the National Hockey League last year, are on top – along with two other teams – through the first week after a pair of wins at Honda Center.
That’s a pretty good start for new coach Dallas Eakins.
“That was a lot of fun,” said Ducks forward Devin Shore after Saturday’s victory. “When you’re playing with speed and everyone is on the same page and you’re playing with the puck. I think you can ask any player, that’s when it’s the most fun. Nobody likes to be stuck in their own end or fighting to get the puck back. When we’re playing and working for each other, it’s a lot of fun out there.”
In goal, John Gibson has yielded two goals and has 69 saves for a 2-0 mark and a .971 save percentage.
The Ducks will now hit the road on Tuesday, taking on the Red Wings in Detroit, and then the Penguins on Thursday in Pittsburgh and the Blue Jackets in Columbus on Friday.
Ducks Week will be posted each Sunday during the team’s season.
