NINE LOCAL teams will be in the first week of the CIF-SS boys volleyball playoffs this coming week (Shutterstock).
Garden Grove High’s girls’ volleyball team is the top-seeded team in the CIF-SS Division 7 playoffs starting this week.
The Argonauts (24-8) are champions of the Golden West League and will have a bye in first round action on Thursday and go straight into second round action on Saturday (Oct. 26) against the winner of the wild card game between Westminster and Bishop Conaty-Loretto on Tuesday.
Here are playoff details for other teams serving Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster. All first round games are set for Thursday, with wild card contests on Tuesday.
Division 1
- Huntington Beach (24-12) at Foothill (24-5).
Division 2
- Edison (16-16) at Rancho Cucamonga (17-10).
Division 4 wild card
- Burbank (13-17) at Pacifica (17-10). Winner will visit Norco (18-1) on Thursday.
Division 5
- Troy (15-11) at Ocean View (11-14).
Division 7
- Garden Grove has a bye.
- South El Monte (12-19) at Bolsa Grande (13-5)
- La Quinta (12-6) has a bye. Will play winner of wild card game between Banning (12-5) and Desert Christian (8-8).
- Grand Terrace (10-9) at Loara (19-3).
Division 7 wild card
- Bishop Conaty (14-15) at Westminster (7-11).
