Home victory streak finally comes to end

It couldn’t last forever.

On Sunday at Honda Center, the Anaheim Ducks saw their unbeaten string at home snapped as they lost 2-1 to the Calgary Flames. Despite the loss, the Orange County team remains tied for second place in the NHL Pacific Division.

Against the Flames, the Ducks were only able to get one goal, and that by Jakob Silfverberg, who is the team’s top scorer with eight points.  John Gibson had 27 saves in goal.

Here are the results of other games played this week (Monday through Friday).

• Boston 4, Ducks 2: David Pastrnak scored a career-high four goals for the Bruins in Beantown on Monday. The Orange County team finished a four-game road trip with a 2-2 record.
• Ducks 5, Buffalo 2: Adam Henrique had two goals and Silfverberg three points as the Ducks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Sabres on Wednesday.
• Ducks 4, Carolina 2: Silfverberg scored in his 500th NHL game and the Ducks remained unbeaten at home on Friday.

After nine games, the top scorers for the Ducks are Silfverberg (eight; five goals and three assists), Rickard Rakell (seven; three goals and four assists), Adam Henrique (six; five goals and one assist) and Hampus Lindholm (six assists).

The Ducks will be back in action on Tuesday as they begin a three-game road trip. They’ll take on the Nashville Predators on that day, then visit the Stars in Dallas on Thursday and then the Avalanche on Saturday in Denver.
