Comforts of home loom ahead for team

The benefits of “home sweet home” will soon – with luck – be accruing to the Anaheim Ducks as they approach a seven-game home stand stretching into the middle of November.

After a rough week in which they lost three of four games, the Orange County team saw its record go to 7-6-0 (14 points) and drop from a second place tie in the NHL Pacific into a tie for third with the Calgary Flames (6-5-2).

That switch took place on Sunday as they lost 5-2 to the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Against the men from Nevada, the Ducks took an early lead on a goal by Ryan Getzlaf in the first period, and then saw five straight goals from the visitors. Adam Henrique got the final Duck goal in the third period.

The long home string starts on Tuesday when they host the Winnipeg Jets at the Honda Center. On Friday the visitors will be the Vancouver Canucks, then the Chicago Black Hawks next Sunday.
