THE WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL may decide Wednesday on the map to be used to create city council districts (Shutterstock).
A decision on which district maps to adopt when the city switches from at-large voting for council members could be coming on Wednesday when the matter comes before the Westminster City Council.
The new system would be in place for the 2020 election for two council seats and 2022 for the other two. Since the last public hearing, another map – called the “purple map” – has been submitted at the request of Councilman Sergio Contreras, placing Beach Boulevard as the divider between the two proposed western districts and those on the east.
The council will meet in its chambers in the Civic Center, 8200 Westminster Blvd., at 7 p.m.
