Five suspects from Riverside were arrested in an attempted armed robbery in Garden Grove Thursday night.

According to Sgt. Mark Lord of the GGPD, the incident took place around 7:10 p.m. in the 13400 block of Euclid Street between Trask Avenue and Century Boulevard.

The robbery try took place in a parking lot where two victims – identified as a male juvenile and a male adult, both Garden Grove residents – were seeking to buy a cell phone from suspects they had contacted though a website.

During the exchange, two of the suspects displayed firearms and demanded money. The victims ran into a nearby business and as they were fleeing, one of them said he heard two shots being fired. The suspects then fled.

A suspect vehicle was identified and located shortly thereafter in the 1700 block of Caroleen in Anaheim. Anaheim and Garden Grove police made a vehicle stop and arrested the five for conspiracy to commit robbery.

Two replica Airsoft firearms were located in the suspect vehicle. Police believe the same suspects were involved in a robbery the previous day in Anaheim.

The identities of the five were withheld by police, but involved three adults and two juveniles.

  1. Feral subhumans. Two adults showing three juveniles how to be criminals. No worse scum. Thanks Brown and Newsome. Lawmakers enabling lawbreakers. No bigger scrum bags.
