GARDEN GROVE, Stanton and Westminster city councils each have meetings this week (Shutterstock).
It may be winter in most of the rest of the United States, but in West Orange County, it’s starting to look a bit spring-like. Here’s the outlook for this week for those of us who live in (or work or visit) Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Stanton and Westminster.
WEATHER: Highs will be in the mid-60s most of the week, with showers possible on Thursday.
- Garden Grove will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
- Stanton will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
- Westminster will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
ENTERTAINMENT: Local live theaters are dark this week. Movies opening this week locally include:
- “Bad Boys For Life” stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in another buddy cop comedy-drama. Rated R.
- “Doolittle” stars Robert Downey, Jr. as a man who can speak to animals. Rated PG.
- “The Wave” features Justin Long as a man who takes a trip and accidentally takes a “trip” that changes his life. Rated R.
SPORTS: Of course, the college football championship is on the tube Monday night, and the NFL Conference Championships are broadcast on Sunday. However, if you prefer live sports close to home, Garden Grove High’s boys’ basketball team will host Ocean View Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. Both teams are 2-0 so far and could be the class of the Golden West League. The Argonauts are 14-6 and the Seahawks are 12-8.
