Sanders, Buttigieg top N.H. Demo primary

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has been declared the winner of the New Hampshire Democratic Primary.

With 84 percent of precincts reporting Tuesday night, Sanders – a self-described “democratic socialist – had received 68,872 votes (25.9 percent) compared to South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg with 64,776 (24.4 percent). Both will receive eight pledged delegates to the Democratic Convention.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar is third with 52,344 (19.7 percent) and five delegates, followed by Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren with 24,878 votes (9.4 percent) and former Vice President Joe Biden with 22,197 votes (8.4 percent). Warren and Biden won no delegates.

In the Republican primary, President Donald Trump was favored 86 percent of voters and challenger Bill Weld 9 percent with 67 percent of precincts in.
